WUTPaSS BUMP CRITERIA
A rider will be bumped to a higher division according to the following criteria:
If a rider does more of a certain trick class than the division allows, he/she will be bumped to the appropriate division. Example: An advanced rider doing more than 4 different inverts in his/her run will be bumped.
If a rider does a trick that is not appropriate to the division that he/she is competing in, he/she will be bumped to the appropriate division. Example: An Expert rider doing a 720 will be bumped to an open division.
If the DRA organizers believe that a rider is “sandbagging,” he/she will be bumped to the appropriate division.
When a rider is bumped, the following procedure will be used:
If a rider “self bumps” before an event, he/she will carry 80% of his/her standing points with him/her to the new division.
If a rider is bumped for any of the reasons 1,2, or 3 above, the following will occur:
a. Any tricks done which are not permitted in the division will be given a “0” score. This includes tricks with too high a point value and also excessive inverts or spins thrown for the class.
b. The rider’s place in the division competed in will be determined, and he/she will be assigned the appropriate standing points.
c. The rider will take 75% of his/her total standing points to the next division.
d. At the next event the rider will ride in the appropriate division.
These Rules are in place to discourage sandbagging, and to encourage the rider to compete in the highest division in which he/she would be competitive.
